Sydney Night- Tayla

Ken Done, with his artwork ‘Sydney Night’ painted in 1984, has recreated the image of Sydney Harbour into an innovative and breathtaking masterpiece. The main elements of the artwork are the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House, as well as skyscrapers and fireworks in the background and an assortment of boats floating along the harbour, with the lights of the city reflecting off of the surface. These elements are complimented with a detailed border running along the edges. ‘Sydney Night’ is a supplementary representation of what the City of Sydney resembles during times of celebration. With the combination of colour and texture Done has demonstrated, he was able to illustrate the happiness, excitement and buzz of the metropolis. Done has used oil crayon and ink in a wide variety of bright, eye-popping colours to contrast the black background, providing the painting with a more significant sense of hue. The artist has skilfully painted the lights of the city reflecting off of the surface of the water creating texture and a greater feeling of movement. ‘Sydney Night’ by artist Ken Done is an extremely important artwork, shown through numerous skills and techniques. His impressive attention to detail and ability to draw in an audience and make them feel the thrill of the artwork with the use of colour is undoubtedly something to be commended.

Beaded Elie Saab formal gown, Paris Couture Fall 2014-2015 Dress by Elie Saab, Blog by Sheannetelle Fox

Beaded Elie Saab formal gown, Paris Couture Fall 2014-2015 Dress by Elie Saab

The Beaded Elie Saab formal gown, Paris Couture Fall 2014-2015 Dress by Elie Saab is a formal gown that is Beaded all over and goes from light pink to a blood red colour in a the form of a dip-dye. The material under all the beads and Swarovski crystals it is like a silk material that isn’t shiny, overall it is a gorgeous and stunning gown in my opinion.

The Beaded Elie Saab formal gown, Paris Couture Fall 2014 Dress by Elie Saab is about fall it shows the dress going from the light colors of summer in to the deep and dark shades of fall, even though the dress can’t be worn through everyday life it would be a definite head turner for special event and it would also make you the ‘star of ball’ because of how sparkly the dress is and how light would bounce of all the Swarovski crystals
.
The Main idea of the Beaded Elie Saab formal gown, Paris Couture Fall 2014 Dress is to represent the change of seasons from summer to fall. The dress shows the transition of seasons through the color of the dress and how it changes from a soft baby pink summer colour to a deep blood red autumn colour and how the colour to wear can change in just a day just like how the dress goes softly but quickly in to darker shades.

I love the Beaded Elie Saab formal gown, Paris Couture Fall 2014-2015 Dress by Elie Saab and I think it is an amazing artwork, I also think it is very important do this generations fashion society, and I personally think it would be worth putting in a fashion museum due to the meaning of this beautiful gown.

Mount Abrupt by Dylan Wotton

Mount erupt, 1956 by Eugene Von Guerard

Mount Abrupt is a painting made by Eugene Von Guerard In 1956. This artwork is an oil on paper on canvas piece. The dimensions are 25.8 x 34.0 cm stretcher; 24.7 x 33.2 cm sight; 44.0 x 52.3 x 7.0 cm frame. The artwork is oil on paper on canvas.
The artwork “Mount Abrupt” by artist Eugene von Guerard. Guerard discovered an image in his head, it was an environmental image and started making it on a canvas. He used oil on paper on canvas, he made hills with beautiful trees on the canvas with dark green colours for the trees and the hills. He even made the skies and the light shining on the ground. The canvas has a textured environment and colour. He even made the painting look realistic. The canvas is horizontal axis, it is of Mount Abrupt, the Grampians, Victoria, made in 1856. Eugene von Guerard also signed and dated it L.r. corner, red oil “Eug v. Guerard *(underlined). There is no line but there tone in the empty dam. There are some trees on the hill, there are textures on the hills and trees too. There’s some balance on the trees and in the clouds and even rocks show repetition.
Mount Abrupt has many elements shown in this piece, such as a creek, trees, one dead tree, a hill and a sunset skyline. The colors in this painting is dark green for trees and grass, light blue and a tad of yellow for the sky and sunset, brown for the creek, creamy brown for the cliff face of the mountain and light gray for the clouds. This artwork is set in horizontal axis and has slight rough texture.
This artwork makes me feel free and looks like heaven also it feels like I’m in the painting. The main idea of the artwork “Mount Abrupt” is heaven and it represents through the materials meaning freedom. The artwork is about the peace and quiet of heaven. He wanted people to think about what heaven looks like.
I like this painting and I think it is a good artwork. It is an important artwork because it is painted by a famous person. I think this artwork is good enough to put in the museum.

Mina Mina Dreaming by Zak

Mina Mina Dreaming

The artwork Mina Mina dreaming is illustrated by Judy Watson Napangardi, born in 1925, in Yarungkanji at Mt Doreen Station, she was taught and inspired the art form of painting and techniques by her older sister Maggie Napangardi Watson.
The art work Mina Mina Dreaming by Judy Watson Napangardi, is quite a large painting with dimensions of 152x152cm. The painting is acrylic on canvas. She uses lines and circles. In my opinion she uses the space very well and very good color contrast, using the colors blue, orange, pink, red, purple and green.
She uses the canvas space very well, she spreads out her brush strokes and doesn’t overdo it in one space. This artwork is very unique because it uses a lot of different colour’s, also it has pattern of circles, lines and other useful shapes.
The main idea of the artwork “Mina Mina Dreaming” is that it’s important to the Napangardi/Napanangka women and Japangardi/Japanangka men, and is expressed the components of linen canvas, acrylic paints and many more useful accessories. The artwork has a horizontal line, meaning that this artwork is great inspiration for younger Indigenous kids to look up to.

Written Ewan M Brown

The Australian artist Cressida Campbell lives in Sydney and belongs the art style still life. She paints with unique-state colour woodblock paints. She learned the woodblock techniques in Yoshida Hanga Academy in Tokyo in 1980.

The artwork ‘Nasturtiums’, painted in 2002, is a painting with the same woodblock paints that Cressida Campbell uses in all of her paintings. The painting is 58.4x60cm and has a vertical axis. This piece has three bowls with growing nasturtiums inside them near the edge of a diagonally facing table. The painting is a close up of nasturtiums growing near an edge of a table.

The colours used and seen in nasturtiums are shades of darkish blue, bright yellow and orange with a dark red, white, grey and mixes of both light and dark green. The painting shows the true beauty of nasturtiums with a lovely subtle colours along with a complementary mix of darker colours that balance out the piece.

This painting is representing the beauty of nasturtiums. Cressida Campbell thought the planet was deserving of a painting and so she made the painting. It has no known significants.

I firmly enjoy this delightable, tantalising and fresh painting. It is the definition of love. I thoroughly enjoy and praise this delectable artwork and its skill involved.

Vatulele #5 By Sarina Baker
The painting ‘Vatulele #5 can be described as the Australian front view of the ocean with heaps of tropical fruits in a bowl on a table with the ocean in the background. The medium of the painting is ‘paint ‘and shapes such as stars, circles, and squiggly lines are used. The painting is a horizontal axis and the composition is used very effectively, many shaded of blues and greens are used for the ocean.
Many colors were used for the tropical fruit on the table, the tones, colors, and textures balance each other out to give that warm tropical feel. The colors used in the painting are greens, yellows, whites, red and purple. In the background of the panting there are boats on the ocean and a table covered in tropical fruit is in front, the sky is also in the background with a few white clouds. I believe that the distinctive features of this artwork are the blue and green ocean, the tropical fruit and the blue crisp sky.
These features are what give off that warm tropical feel. The theme of the art is beach and tropical, you can see this by the use of tropical fruits in the painting, the white sand and the blue and green ocean. I believe the art work means a day in paradise, when I look at the artwork I feel as though I am on the beach and the ocean is clear and blue. This is why I feel the artist made this painting to take you to the tropics and nature and I don’t believe the artwork represents any other symbols.
In conclusion I really like this artwork and think that it is a brilliant painting, I also believe that it is an important artwork because it makes you feel happy and relaxed. I also think that this painting is good enough to put in a museum for those reasons. For me the blues and greens are what really draw me into the painting, I feel as though I am at a holiday at the beach when I look at this painting and all round I think that it is an excellent painting.
